The Blind Asylum by William Landless was built in 1879,the style of the building is Franco/Flemish. The spire being of particular interest with its many carvings and five clock faces.
The statue of Christ healing a blind boy in prayer dates from 1882 and is by Charles Gassby.
The Asylum became part of the Royal Infirmary in 1940,it has subsequently been converted into apartment's.
