Battle of Langside Monument video

The Battle of Langside monument, often called the Battlefield Monument, is a large, ornate monument designed by Alexander Skirving and erected in 1887. It commemorates the 1568 battle where Mary, Queen of Scots' forces were defeated by the Regent Moray, leading to her flight from Scotland. BLACKADDERS AISLE

Blackadders Aisle is a small chapel inside Glasgow Cathedral,it is named after Robert Blackadder who began its construction around 1500.

The chapel is painted white which makes it stand out from the rest of the grey stone used throughout the cathedral,as you enter the chapel on the right hand side is a stain glass window of Robert Blackadder.

Pollok House

 The house, built in 1752 and originally thought to be designed by William Adam (but who may only have been consulted on the design), was subsequently extended by Rowand Anderson in the early 20th century. It was given to the City of Glasgow in 1966 by Dame Anne Maxwell Macdonald, whose family had owned the estate for almost 700 years. It is now managed by the National Trust for Scotland (NTS) and is open to the public.
